12A Why Liberal Arts Matters

Liberal arts education is very important in student life. The real value of Liberal Arts is that it can make students well rounded. It gives you a broad range of general knowledge. Not only that, it also gives you skills such as critical thinking, communication, and problem solving. It is very important for students who want to get a job. Many employers say that they want students who know how to write better, speak better, and reason better. According to the article Liberal Arts and The Work Place, a majority of employers want their employees to have more knowledge of global issues and more knowledge of cultural diversity in the U.S. and abroad. As you can see there is a lot expected for us and a Liberal Arts Education can help us achieve our goals and learn new things.
There are also downsides to a liberal art education. It could take you a long time and also you have to enforce yourself to grow in areas you are not good at. Even thought it might take you along time, it gives you a big experience in your college life. The importance of a Liberal Arts Education is that it does not prepare you for just you major, but it gives you an education on many different things. It teaches you to step out of you comfort zone. An Example is learning Spanish while you want to be a nurse. You might not know but once you’re a nurse you need to be able to speak other languages just incase your patience does not speak English. It all ties in art the end.

As you can see Liberal Arts Education has many advantages. It can help you with your future jobs and also can help you be a better critical thinking.
